Product Description

This translucent Turritella Agate from Morocco is a fossiliferous chalcedony formed when ancient freshwater gastropod snail shells were naturally replaced by silica over millions of years. Each spiral visible in the stone is an actual fossil, preserved in intricate detail within a warm, earthy chalcedony matrix often described as carnelian-colored. These specimens are natural and unpolished raw fossils. A beautiful blend of geology and paleontology, this is a classic collector material for fossil and mineral enthusiasts alike.

Each fossilized shell is unique, displaying a range of natural colors, intricate coiling, and organic variation. Some feature tightly wound apexes or other distinctive formations created during fossilization. Minor surface abrasions from natural extraction may be present. Every piece is individually inspected to ensure it represents a beautiful and well-preserved example of these agatized fossil shells.

This listing is for ONE (1) intuitively chosen crystal shell. Each piece has been handpicked and examined for quality. The photography used is a representation of our collection, the unique specimen you receive will be similar to the stones pictured and will have its own individual traits.
