Ammonite Fossil Specimens (Pair of Slices) ~
A beautiful example of the Fibonacci spiral exhibiting itself in nature, the Ammonite is a shelled nautilus that was part of a now extinct group of invertebrate marine animals. This pair of Ammonite fossil specimens from East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia have been sliced directly in half; their faces have been highly polished, and their backsides remain raw. A rare treat, Dogtooth Calcite terminations can be found clustered within a small pocket. These Ammonite fossils exhibit grey and salmon-pink tones in regular lighting and glow with a brilliance when under a black light - a rare quality in the mineral kingdom! Each specimen measures approximately 83mm. One slice weighs 97 grams and one slice weighs 171 grams, for a combined weight of 268 grams.
