Product Description

These fossilized clam shells date back approximately 200 million years and originate from the well-known Ruck's Pit, Florida. Each specimen formed as ancient shells were preserved through prolonged exposure to mineral-rich waters, becoming embedded in a limestone matrix and naturally attached to a grey calcite-cemented carbonate host rock with marine deposits from the Miocene era.

Over time, cavities within the shells developed striking zones of pale honey calcite crystallization, where delicate, blade-like crystals have grown inward. These specimens are especially captivating under UV light, exhibiting a vivid fluorescence that causes them to glow with remarkable brilliance, a rare and highly sought-after quality in both fossils and minerals.

This listing is for ONE (1) intuitively chosen specimen. Each piece has been handpicked and examined for quality. The photography used is a representation of our collection, the unique specimen you receive will be similar to the stones pictured and will have its own individual traits. Specimens categorized by weight don’t have specific size measurements provided, as each piece has a different shape and mass.
