Product Description
Product Description
These specimens of Cave Calcite are a type of speleothem, meaning they formed within caves from calcium carbonate-rich groundwater. As mineral-rich water slowly drips, flows, or seeps through limestone, carbon dioxide escapes and calcite is deposited layer by layer over thousands of years. Changes in water flow and crystal growth create the rounded, botryoidal ("grape-like") or cauliflower-like surface texture. Some pieces formed as coatings on cave walls, while others developed as stalactites or stalagmites before being naturally broken or collected.
This listing is for ONE (1) intuitively chosen crystal. Each piece has been handpicked and examined for quality. The photography used is a representation of our collection, the unique specimen you receive will be similar to the stones pictured and will have its own individual traits. Specimens categorized by weight don’t have specific size measurements provided, as each piece has a different shape and mass.
