This amber originates from near the El Cerrejón Coal Mine in La Guajira, Colombia. Considered “young amber,” this material likely ranges from tens of thousands to several million years old and displays a deep orange glow. It has a glowing translucence, showcasing preserved insect inclusions and multiple moving enhydro bubbles. It has a lightly polished side and another side that has been highly polished, creating a window into the inclusions within. The petite 1 millimeter enhydro bubble shifts back and forth within a 3 millimeter cavity of dark amber liquid. This material glows with a colorful, saturated brilliance when under a black light - a rare quality in the mineral kingdom. It measures approximately 58 x 20 x 18 millimeters and weighs 9.32 grams.
