This rare Fibrous Sugilite on matrix comes from the renowned N'Chwaning III Mine in the Kalahari Manganese Field of Northern Cape, South Africa. Unlike the more common massive material used for lapidary work, these natural specimens feature silky, fibrous purple Sugilite with a subtle chatoyant luster that contrasts beautifully against the dark manganese-rich matrix. Increasingly difficult to source, each specimen is completely unique and makes an outstanding addition to any mineral collection. This specimen measures approximately 65mm by 30mm by 19mm and weighs 75.95 grams.
