This Sugilite is an authentic specimen from South Africa and a strong example of this rare material. In its raw old-stock form, it shows saturated purple with a natural black matrix, along with subtle blue richterite inclusions. It measures approximately 25mm by 15mm by 11mm and weighs 4.93 grams.
When backlit, it reveals vivid fuchsia tones, a sign of “gel sugilite.” This refers to a more silica-rich form with a smoother, slightly translucent appearance and stronger color. The specimen has been lightly treated with a small amount of organic olive oil to enhance natural color and texture.
