Irgizite, a rare black tektite, was formed during an asteroid strike 900,000 years ago. When the meteor, Zhamanshin, struck Kazakhstan near a small village known as Irgiz, the molten material hardened into the tektites that we cherish today. Irgizites are known for the small droplet-like bumps on their surface, a trait unique from other tektites, and for their protective energy.
