Opals are a magical crystal known for their incredible flash of rainbow colors. Opals carry an undeniable magic and are powerful talismans, sparking creativity and inspiration! An amorphous form of silica, Opals contain water in their structural makeup - this makes them relatively soft, falling at approximately 5.5 on the Mohs scale. Although somewhat fragile, this colorful crystal can withstand being worn and makes striking pieces of jewelry. Opals have a long history that ranges throughout many different cultures; there are stories of it being used as riches, to treat physical ailments, as a token of good luck, and even as a tool to achieve invisibility.
