Mined high in the rugged terrain of the Hindu Kush mountains, this locale produced very little material before operations ceased in 2015. These exquisite half hourglass Amethysts come from the now-closed Bamyan Mine in Afghanistan, making them exceptionally rare and increasingly sought after by collectors, with limited availability of authentic specimens. What sets this material apart is its striking phantom-like inclusion, naturally formed by zoning during crystal growth. These specimens have single or partial terminations, a variety of inclusions, keyholes, natural abrasions and other natural characteristics.
