This striking specimen features vibrant purple fluorite coating an elongated quartz crystal from the Huanggang Mine in Inner Mongolia, China. Discovered in late 2025, this material quickly caught the attention of collectors for its unusual growth habit and dramatic coloration. The crystal displays classic candle quartz formation, with a sculptural quartz point that is naturally draped in a shimmering violet coating of fluorite microcrystals.
The fluorite forms a fine crystalline layer across the surface of the quartz, creating a soft, frosted texture that ranges from lilac to deeper grape-purple tones depending on the light. This specimen shows particularly rich purple coloration with an even coating across the crystal faces, along with additional secondary growth that adds extra dimension and character. It weighs 130 grams and measures approximately 3.75 inches by 1.75 inches by 1.25 inches.
