This natural Sapphire material comes from the renowned Badakhshan region of Afghanistan, nestled within the rugged Hindu Kush mountain range of the greater Himalayan mountain system. The Sapphire is within translucent white calcite-rich marble, which displays a soft waxy luster. Blue Sapphire phantoms and color zoned areas of rich cobalt coloring can be seen within portions of the matrix, creating a striking contrast against the translucent matrix.
