Ammonite Fossil Specimens (Pair of Slices) ~
A beautiful example of the Fibonacci spiral exhibiting itself in nature, the Ammonite is a shelled nautilus that was part of a now extinct group of invertebrate marine animals. This pair of Ammonite fossil specimens from East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia have been sliced directly in half; their faces have been highly polished, and their backsides remain raw. A rare treat, Dogtooth Calcite terminations can be found clustered within small pockets. These Ammonite fossils exhibit taupe, grey, and salmon-pink tones in regular lighting and glow with a brilliance when under a black light - a rare quality in the mineral kingdom! Each specimen measures approximately 70mm. One slice weighs 95.5 grams and one slice weighs 82.7 grams, for a combined weight of 178 grams.
