Zincite Specimen ~
These Polish Zincite crystals are more and more difficult to obtain, and we were lucky enough to connect on an old private collection that had become available through our Polish friends. These specimens are from the 70's and are held onto tightly, though each year we keep an eye out for circulating material. These crystals and clusters showcase such a wide variety of colors. Similar to the colors of fall, some exhibit red and orange tones, earthy browns and chartreuse with some pops of yellow, as well as the rarer light icy blue to almost colorless. Each of these has translucence and even the dark specimens have a flash of color when backlit. They are lustrous and hold gorgeous terminations, each one unique in formation. Zincite is formed by crystallizing from the zinc smelting process.
